Archive for the web development Category

About two months ago, I was approached by Roadshow Entertainment with regards to ComedyDownUnder.com to see if I’d be interested in a) having items to giveaway through the web site and b) accepting advertising.

I said yes, and wrote some code and implemented new database tables to accept both of these new ideas.

The ad campaign has come and gone, as it was to only run a month, but there are still giveaway prizes sitting in my study, waiting for the next draws. Only there are no more entrants… I’d have expected at least a few more entrants than two but perhaps people aren’t interested in the prize, or don’t want to fill in the survey to win. Unless my site doesn’t get as many visitors to the front page as I thought.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in winning a Catherine Tate DVD and T-shirt pack and you like comedy and surveys, there isn’t much competition.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been busy trying to finish off Journey, the short film I shot for my GradDip back in 2005, because my supervisor wanted another copy, and I wanted to give her the best copy I could. I didn’t want to wait any longer for my composer, so I found some help elsewhere. It is now finished complete with score, and I am incredibly happy. All I have left now is to put together the DVD.

So over the last few days, I have put together a new web site that looks a lot like my blog, but is dedicated to the films I make. When there, you can find some files to download on some of the pages, including a trailer for Journey.

I am incredibly happy with all of the work I have been putting into these projects of late. This month I am also participating in Script Frenzy, though other commitments so far have kept me from writing more than 830 words or so, and next weekend will be the first day I’ll be shooting Present Vision, the first MAHEM production. I am hoping to have more time to work on my script for Script Frenzy, but I also need to finish writing some bits of my new film site.

For those who may only be following the blog page for updates, over the past three days, I have created a couple of pages on this web site:

Life Assessment

A Hobbyist Filmmaker’s Journey

In other news, today I am going to be helping a friend on one of his film shoots. And on Friday I went to check out a location for a film I’m shooting soon (the first film I’ll have shot and edited not for a class/course since 2001)
